Julian Luna is an associate in the Mexico City office in the area of Customs and international Trade Law. He has extensive experience in advising importing and exporting companies in customs and international trade matters.

Julian Luna's Professional Experience

Litigation and dispute solution.

Julián has participated in several proceedings, nullity and amparo trials, as well as in conclusive agreements before the Tax Authority (Prodecon). He has also assisted in antidumping and sunset review of antidumping duties proceedings before the International Trade Practices Unit of the Ministry of Economy. Likewise, he has collaborated in commercial arbitration proceedings under different arbitration rules.

Maquiladora Industry and development programs.

Julian has assisted several companies in the implementation and application of international trade programs and authorizations (IMMEX, PROSEC, VAT and IEPS Certification, AEO), mainly within the automotive industry (OEM) and auto parts companies (Tier 1 and Tier 2), pharmaceutical, cosmetics and consumer goods.

Administrative law and Regulatory Compliance

Julián has assisted several companies in the application of regulations and non-tariff restrictions, as well as in the compliance of sanitary authorizations for companies in the pharmaceutical sector before the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris). He has also participated in verification procedures by Cofepris and in consumer rights matters before Profeco, as well as in the filing of defense actions against such entities and other administrative authorities.
