Antidumping Investigation on Concrete Nails from China
Today, September 26th, 2023, the Mexican Ministry of Economy published the Notice of Initiation of the Antidumping Investigation on imports of Concrete Nails from China, in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
Petitioners
The companies, Clavos Nacionales México, S.A. de C.V. (Clavos México) y Clavos Nacionales C.N., S.A. de C.V. (Clavos C.N.) are domestic producers of concrete nails in Mexico and requested the antidumping investigation.
Investigated Product
The product under investigation is commercially known as black concrete steel nails (polished or unpolished), galvanized concrete steel nails, or simply concrete nails.
The product can have smooth or grooved surface, with different types of head and tip, as well as different lengths, thicknesses and black finish (polished or unpolished), tropicalized, galvanized, painted or any other type of finish.
Mexican Tariff Item
Concrete nails enter under tariff item 7317.00.99 of the Mexican Tariff of the General Import and Export Tax Law (TIGIE).
Normal Value Determination
The Ministry of Economy established the normal value of the investigated product based on domestic prices in China.
Period of Investigation (Dumping)
From May 1st, 2022 to April 30th, 2023.
Period of Analysis (Injury)
From May 1st, 2020 to April 30th, 2023.
Deadline to Participate
The last day for exporters and importers to submit their form to participate in the investigation is November 6th, 2023, although an extension may be requested.
