Partner of Mexico City office, Ms. Verónica Vazquez is the head of the Regulatory practice area, and she is actively involved in the Customs law practice. Ms. Vázquez also assists in trade remedies investigations, and intellectual property matters.

Experience of de Veronica Vazquez

Ms Vázquez has more than 15 years of experience in regulatory and customs matters, assisting foreign companies that wish to do business in Mexico. She actively provides assistance to companies that require permits or authorizations to import goods and operate in the country, such as sanitary and environmental permits, among other; additionally.

Ms Vázquez has extensive experience and specialization on labelling requirements and intellectual property matters, such as trademarks. She deals with disputes in customs and foreign trade matters and challenges adverse resolutions at Tax Court, obtaining favorable resolutions, which translates into the non-payment of the tax credits established or the reduction of these.

Regulatory

Our Partner advises and assists companies in obtaining sanitary import permits from COFEPRIS, permits or authorizations from the Ministry of Economy and SEMARNAT. Veronica Vazquez also has extensive experience and expertise in Mexican Official Labeling Standards, including NOM-051.

International Trade & Customs

She actively assists multinational and domestic companies in customs law, tariff classification, rules of origin, export programs, IMMEX, AEO, tariff deferral programs and sectorial programs, foreign trade audits and intellectual property. Our partner also coordinates the representation of importing and exporting companies in antidumping investigations.

Tariff Classification

In tariff classification, she works together with customs brokers to obtain the correct tariff classification of goods that are difficult to classify and, when required, requests confirmation of criteria from the corresponding customs authorities, achieving favorable criteria that help companies reduce costs in your foreign trade operations.
