Brenda Miranda studied law at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She also has a technical degree in Accounting from the same university.

Brenda Miranda has been part of the VTZ team in Mexico City since October 2022. Prior to joining VTZ, our young associate worked in the administrative and accounting area of the National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence Against Women at the Mexican Ministry of the Interior.

Subsequently, she worked as an intern in a boutique firm in the area of litigation and consulting in Tax and Customs Law. After that, she worked in a Notary Public’s office in Mexico City, where she was responsible for the review of deeds and customer service.

Professional experience

Antidumping

Since her incorporation, Brenda Miranda supports the VTZ team in trade remedy proceedings. Specifically, she is in charge of preparing responses to forms and requests for information, as well as the preparation of translations, public and confidential versions in antidumping investigations before the Mexican Ministry of Economy.

Business Law

Brenda Miranda advises domestic and foreign companies and investors in the incorporation of companies under Mexican law. In addition, Brenda Miranda is responsible for the preparation of ordinary and extraordinary meetings, and the drafting of commercial contracts. 

Academic Experience

During her studies, our young associate was a scholar of the Academic Excellence Program of the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice. This distinction is only awarded to the 100 best students of each generation of her school. She was also a research assistant at the Institute of Legal Research of the UNAM in the areas of antitrust, commercial law and consumer rights. 

Extracurricular Activities

Investment arbitration and international commercial arbitration

Currently, Brenda Miranda is coach of the team that will represent UNAM in the XVI edition of the Moot Madrid in April 2024. This competition is organized by Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

In January 2023, Brenda Miranda served as coach of the winning team of the 20th edition of the Moot Mexico. This competition consisted of the simulation of an investor – State arbitration before the Centro de Arbitraje de México (CAM).

At the end of 2021, our young associate represented her university in the 5th edition of the UP-ICC Mexico Moot on international commercial arbitration, organized by the International Chamber of Commerce Mexico. In this edition, her team won first place in the competition, as well as the prize for the best written.
