Los próximos 14 y 15 de octubre se llevará a cabo la V Biennial Conference of the Latin American Network of International Economic Law: “Steps Back in the International Economic Law Order: Impacts to Latin America”, en donde expertos y académicos expondrán sobre el papel de América Latina en la gobernanza económica internacional.

El 14 de octubre nuestro Socio Jr., Emilio Artega, dará la ponencia “A sudden change in the treatment of China as a Market Economy Status Post-2016 in Mexican Antidumping Investigations? A Practical Approach” que versará sobre el tratamiento de China en las investigaciones antidumping de la Secretaría de Economía.
El 15 de octubre, nuestro Socio Director, Adrián Vázquez, participará en el panel “¿Qué tan preparado está el sector privado en temas del Derecho Económico Internacional?” a lado de abogados líderes en la materia como Carlos Véjar de Holland & Knight, Rocío Mejía de EY y Juan Carlos Partida de EC Legal Rubio Villegas, el cual será moderado por Emilio Arteaga.

On April 12th, our managing partner, Adrián Vázquez Benítez, was invited to participate in the launching of the International Economic Law Group (or Grupo en Derecho Internacional Económico (GDIEC)) in Bogota, Colombia.
The GDIEC, which has the institutional support of the Universidad de los Andes, aims at studying the central aspects of international economic law, including the laws of the World Trade Organization, the law of economic integration, investment law and international monetary law.

It was discussed in the panel the recent measures of the USA and China, the impasse in the Dispute Settlement Mechanism of the WTO (in particular the Appellate Body), as well as the risks towards multilateralism.
The University of Barcelona has an LLM program called “International Economic Law and Policy“, that is better known as IELPO, a specialized master considered as one of the most prestigous in the world.
VTZ is proud to inform that our associate, Mariana Malvaez, recently started to study at IELPO and she is the second member of this firm to be accepted to this highly selective programme; Matisse Barbaro, former international intern during 2016, was the first VTZ member to study at IELPO. Moreover, Mariana Malvaez is the fourth Mexican to study at IELPO and she won several international and national scholarships that will support her studies.
