La publicación resalta a VTZ como un líder en el área de derecho comercial internacional, asesorando a distinguidas empresas, tanto locales como multinacionales, en materia de remedios comerciales.

Today, the compliance panel in the US – Tuna II dispute issued its report finding that the amended tuna measure is now in compliance with article 2.1 of the TBT agreement and that it is justified with Article XX(g) of the GATT. El pasado 20 de Octubre, la Secretaría de Agricultura, Ganadería y Desarrollo Rural publicó en el Diario Oficial de la Federación un proyecto de Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM) sobre carne de Bovino. Este proyecto pretende establecer los requisitos y especificaciones que permita clasificar la carne de bovino para así proporcionar información a los consumidores sobre su calidad ( madurez fisiológica y marmoleo).
De implementarse, la NOM aplicará
“para todas aquellas personas físicas o morales que participen en la cadena producciónconsumo, donde se incluye la producción, elaboración, maquila, proceso, distribución, comercialización, publicidad, exportación, almacenaje, y/o demás actividades industriales, que pretendan ostentar que la carne de bovino cumple con las características que corresponden a las clasificaciones previstas la presente Norma Oficial Mexicana.”

On October 20, 2017, the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture published in the Official Gazette the draft technical regulation (NOM) on Bovine meat. This draft aims at establishing requirements and specifications to set forth criteria that will allow to classify bovine meat and provide relevant information to consumers about its quality (maturity and marble).

Durante el 8 al 13 de octubre del 2017, la Barra Internacional de Abogados (International Bar Association) celebró su conferencia anual en Sídney, Australia, a la cual asistió nuestro asociado, Emilio Arteaga, ex-ganador de una beca de la IBA y miembro del Comité de Comercio Internacional y Aduanas, también asistió al evento. During October 8 to 13 2017, the Annual Conference of the International Bar Association was held in Sydney, Australia. Our Associate, Emilio Arteaga Vázquez, a former winner of the IBA scholarship of the Anti-trust and Trade Law Section and member of the International Trade and Customs Committee attended to this event, which gathered more than 4,000 lawyers from around the globe.
Our member attended business as well as trade and customs related sessions, organized by the Trade and Customs Committee as well as the International Sales Committee, including those titled “Competition issues in trade agreements: how is it working and where can it go?“, “Is Europe ready for increased levels of Chinese Investment?“, “Breaking Down or building up walls: the future of international trade“, “Startups and business lawyers: global perspectives and future challenges“, “Agricultural supply chains in Southeast Asia: legal considerations from ‘farm to the fork’“, “Trade Relationship and Human Rights“, among others.
Further, our Associate listened to the valuable ‘call to action’ of Jennifer Hillman, former Appellate Body member, who addressed the new political trends on trade policy.

In this new edition, the authors analyze the new developments in the field of trade remedy law, such as China’s market-economy status, as well as the renegotiation of NAFTA and the Trump effect.
